What do you choose?

Hello September!

In the Western hemisphere we are heading towards autumn, in some places praying for a nice Indian summer, in others praying for more rain to feed the soil again. What better time to reflect on where you are, how you feel and what you are choosing in life and/or business?

In deep conversations, I way too often hear, "But I don't have a choice", when talking to people about their challenges, struggles, desires and dreams.

Well, surprise surprise, this is a very wrong way of thinking, because you always have a choice!

Is it always going to be easy? No. Will you be challenged from time to time? Yes.

Life is a journey and there is no straight line towards our desired outcome, challenges and deviations are part of this, yet it is up to you how you deal with them and how you choose to live life.

John Lennon captured it once very accurately, "Life is what happens to you when you're too busy making other plans." And most people are so caught up in either denying or avoiding their struggles and pains, or indulging in them, that they forget that they are the leaders of their life and are very much capable of turning their own situation around.

Today I wish for you to take your power back, to become that conscious leader of your own life and make the changes you need. At least, if you are courageous enough!

"People usually think that progress consists in the increase of knowledge, in the improvement of life, but that isn't so. Progress consists only in the greater clarification of answers to the basic questions of life. The truth is always accessible to a man. It can't be otherwise, because a man's soul is a divine spark, the truth itself. It's only a matter of removing from this divine spark everything that obscures it. Progress consists, not in the increase of truth, but in freeing it from its wrappings. The truth is obtained like gold, not by letting it grow bigger, but by washing off from it everything that isn't gold." - L. Tolstoi

I gladly share with you four choices you have, no matter the situation:

1. Do you choose to be a victim and stay in a powerless state, or do you choose to step into your true power and take action to move forward? Very often this is a subconscious choice and state, even if you think it isn't. If you initially don't have the energy to step out of this state, that is OK, but ask yourself how long you want to stay in this state, how this is serving you, and if this actually is working out for you?

2. Are you willing and able to shift perspectives and find another vantage point for the situation? Every single one of us looks at the world through different glasses, with different emotions. Can you breathe through these emotions, look through different glasses, and no longer react but create and act? Choose change! This also is about energy management.

3. Accept the situation. In order for you to be able to look back at it without any resentment, frustration, annoyance or any other bad feelings if somebody brings it up again, you have to be able to leave it behind.

4. You always have the choice to quit. If you feel trapped in a certain situation, you always have the option to step out of it and quit. The moment you notice it is taking up too much of your energy, this is your last resort. Listen to your body, it will tell you.

Your gut and intuition will not let you down when it comes to making the right decisions, it is a question of tuning in and listening carefully.

Now ask yourself what are you choosing?

Powerful Wishes,

Karen
